A mitered corner is a way of finishing the corner of a garment to reduce bulk. Instead of the side and hem fabric being folded on top of each other, a mitered corner allows the fabric edges to meet at a 45 degree angle.

Press the fabric edges inwards (depth will vary depending on the design), they must be equal width.

Open out & press corners together to form a 45 degree mitre.

Add seam allowance parallel to the mitre line & cut off excess.

With right sides of the fabric together sew along the mitre line, press open, turn through & press again.
