Sew the shoulder & side seams of the garment.
Set the machine stitch to maximum length & sew two parallel rows between the gathering points around the sleeve head & along the cuff edge. The design of your garment will determine where the gather starts & ends on the sleeve, gathering under the arm can be bulky & unflattering, this sample shows it evenly placed either side of the shoulder seam.
Pull the the threads together to form an even gather to fit the armhole & cuff. Pin & stitch in place & unpick the gathering stitches.
