Slanted Pocket

A good pocket for the front of trousers , skirts & garments with a waist seam.

Draft a straight pocket line on your garment front from waist line to side seam, add 0.5cm out from side seam at lowest point of pocket opening, this helps the pocket sit with a little ease and stops it pulling in the side seam when worn.

Trace off each pattern piece from the draft & add seam allowances.

Press under inner edges of facings & lay onto pocket bags.

Topstitch in place.

With right sides together sew front pocket bag to garment front, press the seam allowances towards the pocket bag & edge stitch.

Press front pocket bag in place.

Place back pocket bag lining up both lining bag edges.

Sew the bags together, align the pocket edge with side seam, pin in position before attaching the rest of your garment.
